Project #6 Experimental Camera
Baby Camera
See yourself through the eyes of a baby!
Description
This camera is inspired by a saying in the Three Character Classic: "人之初性本善 Men at their birth, are naturally good." Before being enlightened and educated on the world, infants or little children normally would not have bad or evil thoughts on people they encounter.
Scientific researches have shown that babies do not differentiate our face features; rather, they only see them as primative shapes like triangles or ellipses.
Nowadays we are overwhelmed by all the high techs that automatically recognize and analyze our facial features, sometimes for a purpose that we do not really know of. And even AI has discriminated viewpoints about skin colors, as shown by the Google Images search. Therefore, I want to make a camera from the viewpoint of an infant, which won't discriminate nor use our faces on a purpose.
Design Process
I mainly utilized the CLM Tracker created by Kyle and Xin. Following with the research that babies can only "recognize" our facial features as primitive shapes, I use ellipse and quads to represent the eyes; triangles for the nose; and shapes for the mouth.
