What Do We Want

What do the students want most? This is an answer that is better kept secret to the teachers (kd). I have encrypt the secret answer into the image you see above. Try if you can figure it out!

See my scripts here!

Hint:

Scroll your mouse over the text! Then utilize RGB color codes and the alphabet-number translation to solve the myth!

Description & Design Process

Context:

"student-teacher relationship" Or "school life"

Recipient:

both students and teachers (if they can figure out the meaning behind)

Visual Strategy:

Numbers coded with RGB colors and decoded by alphabet-number translation

Example of an alphabet-number translation sheet

Decoding the secret message!

1. Looking at the two main colors

RGB (141, 53, 121)

RGB (191, 9, 0)

2. Connecting the numbers

1415312119190

3. Decode the number string using alphabet-number translation

We get:

N O C L A S S

Done!

Reflection

The purpose of this project is to demonstrate the idea of anti-surveillance tools in an interesting way. Instead of putting the subject in a serious way, I approach the question from a teacher-student relationship. As students, we might have exchanged little notes and chats secretly in class. And we must have said something like "I want no classes today!" We don't usually do or say these in front of teachers. Therefore, we can encrypt them into a fun code like this project to prevent teacher's "surveillance".

Thinking about anti-surveillance, people around the world have impressed me with their creativity. As a Chinese saying goes: "rules are dead(fixed), but people are alive." When something is violating our rights, we always seek a way out, which is the essence of anti-surveillance.
